HI KHOI,
Thanks for sharing a few minutes with me.
Shockingly, there is more to me than my love for STRAVA.
I’m currently living down the road in Laguna Beach, freelancing for a range of brands and agencies. I’ve been a creative director for about 10 years and copywriter for several before that. Over my career I’ve touched pretty much every category but I think you’ll find the relaunch of the Scott Sports brand, Jockey Comic-Con experience, Head Tennis work, and Oakley Bubba Watson campaign particularly relevant to capturing brand voice and harnessing passionate audiences. And browse the rest of my work as well. The Doodle Method series shows some lighter storytelling while the Road Chip campaign shows something more emotive.
My journey took me from University of Kansas to Chicago to Denver and finally LA. I was CD at Kastner LA as the global lead of Jockey and Lenny and Larry’s cookies. When the pandemic hit my wife and son and I decided to leave LA and made Laguna Beach home. But we spend a fair amount of time in the Bay Area as my wife is an ECD at Instacart.
I’ve led teams as large as 20 and as small as… me. I love building brands and shaping messaging platforms. I’m a strong believer that copywriting is a craft that needs to keep up with culture, which means listening and adjusting to new voices more than spitting tired words on a page because they worked before. I strive to create egoless, safe creative spaces. I take pride in turning good writers into great ones and also believe strongly that AI is a partner to be embraced.
As I mentioned in my LinkedIn message, you seem authentically invested in taking the brand to new places, making STRAVA’s global community, truly global in every sense. Please take a lap around my site and reach out, I’d love to chat.
Thanks!
Jeff
