MAPQUEST IS A VERB DAMMIT.
Mapquest is no longer the print-your-directions-out-on-a-dot-matrix-printer-so-you-can-take-them-with-you-in-the-car navigation tool. The interface is fresh, intuitive and has features that make it more desirable than Google or Apple maps.
The true mark of success in the tech world is "verb" status: "Google it" or "I'm going to Uber home." Mapquest needed to reach a new, younger non-direction-printing audience, and become a verb again. Touting product quality would come later. First, we needed to convey a new brand personality to a new generation.
